Episode 45: Ted Lasso Season 1

During this episode of the Grim Drive Podcast, where we explore mental health through the lens of professional sports and athletes, we discuss the first season of Ted Lasso, a show on AppleTV.

Every 10 episodes or so we deviate from the typical episode format and have a little fun.  We were a bit overdue for that and decided to have back to back episodes covering each of the two seasons of Ted Lasso, a show on Apple TV starring Jason Sudeikis that broke the record for Emmy Award nominations by a show in the first season. With writing that is genius and character development that is unrivaled, Ted Lasso is a must watch, particularly because it is extremely funny, covers the full range of emotions, shows the value of a great Coach, and explores the overlap between athletics and mental health.  We cover our key lessons to take away from season 1, our favorite scenes and characters, notable funny moments, and more.

*The Grim Drive Podcast is a way for people to learn about mental fitness, mental health, and mental illness, through the lens of sports. We want to do our part to further reduce the stigma associated with mental health by highlighting the athletes who have shown strength through vulnerability, spoken up, and spoken out.  We want to provide listeners with mental health education, to raise awareness and reduce risk, maximizing the path to mental fitness.

As a reminder to listeners/viewers, please leave us a review on apple podcasts, or comment on one of our youtube videos with any thoughts.  We guarantee we will respond to all comments and would love the chance to have a dialogue about some of these topics with anyone who is interested to discuss. You can also follow Jotham on Twitter (@jothamLICSW) to discuss all things mental health.
